Holiday Luncheon

Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Three Flames Restaurant.  This is a special time for all members, wives and guests to celebrate the holidays.  You’re encouraged, but not required to bring a guest. Just have fun!

We encourage wearing colorful holiday outfits for the occasion.

• 11 to 12, No-host cocktails
• 12 to 1 Lunch (Special Steak, Grilled Salmon or Combo) with salad, rolls. Potatoes, veggies, coffee and dessert.
• 1 to 1:30 Sing along to a bevy of Christmas Carols with “Susan Monahan” pianist and singer

All this for $34 /person including tax and tip.  Sign up and send check made out to “SIR BR54” to Pierre Garabedian.

Silicon Valley Retirees Investment Club (SVRIG) –Meeting Notice – We meet at 1 pm on the LAST Thursday of the month except November & December when it is combined on the FIRST Thursday of December.

Your Day Trip Team, Glenn & Chuck, are both resigning due to medical issues. We need a replacement so we can keep this fun activity. You can volunteer or send your ideas for replacements to Big SIR Hersh Brown. hershb@gmail.com

We play bocce every Thursday at Almaden Lake Park with the exception of the second Thursday which is dedicated to the Sirs luncheon. We start at 10am and finish around noon. There is no need to RSVP, just show up around ten and we’ll fold you into the game.

Dear Sirs,

Next Friday, December 5, we will be “walking” the Martial Cottle Park.  As its name indicates, it is really a walk in the park and I encourage you to join me.  The weather remains dry and on the cool side but starting time is 10 AM, it should be comfortable.  You won’t be sweating but you won’t be freezing either.  As for the distance, we will have the choice between 2 and 4 miles. 

We will meet at the western entrance located at the point where Chynoweth Avenue meets the park at Barron Park Drive.  Some of you have done this walk before.  In fact, I have a picture that shows about a dozen of us on that trail.  Let me know if you’re coming.  If you need more information, please call me at (408)206-0532

Hello mild hikers and neighborhood walkers.  Monday mornings we walk. The walk typically covers 2-3 miles of mild up and down streets.

During the summer we start at 8 AM at SIR Charles (Heck) Hecker’s place on Crisp Ave. just two and a half blocks east of Fruitvale Ave. near West Valley College.

If you’re interested let me know and plan on arriving between 7:45 and 7:55.  We try to leave promptly at 8.

Some of our members also regularly play golf at Bay View, Moffett Field and Spring Valley. Sometimes we play Dublin Ranch, Santa Teresa, Poppy Ridge, Canyon Lakes, Wente Vineyards and Cinnabar.
