What is SIR
How SIR Started
In Retirement (SIR) is an organization of retired and semi-retired men.
joined together to maintain old friendships, form new ones and share
the interests of retirement. Incorporated in 1959, the organization now
has about 22,000 members in 157 branches. There are no dues, and no
advocacy of political, religious or fraternal organizations.
We need a Travel or Assistant Travel Chairman! Mike Console from Br. 32 has been assisting us but he has personnel commitments that will prevent him from continuing. He will continue to help whomever assumes the position. The position comes with significant travel perks.
In September, Mario Vazquez has arranged for Marty Brounstein, Speaker and Author: "Two Among the Righteous Few", a Story of Courage in the Holocaust, to present a true interfaith story of courage, compassion, and rescue. It's a story of a Christian couple in the Netherlands who, despite great risks and dangers, saved the lives of over two dozen Jews during WWII and the Holocaust.
