What is SIR
How SIR Started
In Retirement (SIR) is an organization of retired and semi-retired men.
joined together to maintain old friendships, form new ones and share
the interests of retirement. Incorporated in 1959, the organization now
has about 22,000 members in 157 branches. There are no dues, and no
advocacy of political, religious or fraternal organizations.
For February Mario Vazques, our Spearker Chairman, has arranged for Gizelda Zebroski a WW II survivor and author to share her experience in Berlin during the war. The Berlin Airlift was an American effort to get food and other supplies to the beleaguered residents of Berlin, which was surrounded by the Soviet Zone. Gisela lived in the American Zone during the Berlin Airlift. She described her sometimes harrowing experiences while living there.
