"Sharing the Interests of Retirement"

SIR Branch 54
Orchard Valley Winter 2015
Sons In Retirement (SIR) is an organization of retired and semi-retired men. We have joined together to maintain old friendships, form new ones and share the interests of retirement. Incorporated in 1959, the organization now has about 22,000 members in 157 branches. There are no dues, and no advocacy of political, religious or fraternal organizations.

For February Mario Vazquez, our Program Chairman, has arranged for Luke Rizzuto to talk about the 1908 Great Automobile Race Centennial.   Luke was an organizer and participant in the recreation of the Great Automobile Race of 1908. The 1908 race featured six teams from four countries who drove from New York West through to San Francisco, Japan, Russia, and Europe to Paris.  The centennial in 2008 was to recreate the North American portion and went from New York to San Francisco.   Luke drove his 1918 Chevrolet in this race.
