What is SIR
How SIR Started
In Retirement (SIR) is an organization of retired and semi-retired men.
joined together to maintain old friendships, form new ones and share
the interests of retirement. Incorporated in 1959, the organization now
has about 22,000 members in 157 branches. There are no dues, and no
advocacy of political, religious or fraternal organizations.
We need a Travel or Assistant Travel Chairman! Mike Console from Br. 32 has been assisting us but he has personnel commitments that will prevent him from continuing. He will continue to help whomever assumes the position. The position comes with significant travel perks.
In October, Mario Vazquez has arranged for our own Branch 54 Horace Hines, PHD, to discuss Geology from the Pacific to the Rockies. Do you want to know why we have Earth Quakes, what happened to Mt. St. Helens, why there is a bulge forming in the desert, how death valley was created or why Los Angles is moving to San Francisco? Horace will be able to provide all the answers!
